“For as far back as I can remember, I’ve always had a passion for making things beautiful as well as making beautiful things. Whether I was drawing, painting, paper mache-ing…sewing, knitting, sculpting, jewelry making .. as long as my hands were busy in something., I was in my heaven. When I was a young adult ready for the ART Institute of Chicago, my parents were getting a divorce and there was no money or opportunity. Not “ARTING” wasn’t even an option as I was driven by that insatiable desire to create. So I sought knowledge anywhere and everywhere, I drew my inspiration from nature leaning things like shape and texture, the way the light dances and falls in the forest, studying hues of dramatic color from the sunset skies, vast landscapes, the depth and intensity of new life’s eyes…
The tricky part for me is to get my mind to slow down enough to put my thoughts on paper, or a canvas… or to shape a piece of earth…
As of late, my weapons of choice have mostly been Acrylic paint on canvas Alcohol ink painting and watercolors. If I disappear…you’re likely to find me just in my own head or in my studio, better known as my “Laboratory!””
