Christopher Smith is a wildlife artist, author, and avid outdoorsman from Suttons Bay, Michigan, where he lives with his wife and two obnoxious Labradors. He specializes in dog portraits and wildlife scenes for pet owners
and wildlife lovers across the country.
Smith is a five-time winner of the Michigan State Duck Stamp contest-2020, 2018, 2016, 2014, and 2005, and took second in 2013 and 2021. In 2018, his winning image was made into the first and only Michigan Governor’s Edition, as well as being the first Michigan stamp to depict a dog. He’s also been a two-time Michigan Ducks Unlimited Sponsor Artist of the Year, and he made
it to the final rounds of the 2019 and 2020 Federal Duck Stamp Contests.
Chris has freelance illustrated more than two dozen sporting books, written and co-authored several books, written and illustrated for more than a dozen national magazines, and has a column in the local Traverse City Record Eagle.
