When I retired In 2004 from teaching, my wife and I decided to move to Traverse City. We initially built a log home and ran a B&B, however, after seven years we felt it was time to “really” retire and devote time to other pursuits.
I have always enjoyed working with wood and have worked on various projects from cabinets to furniture – but my real passion is wood turning. I like making bowls, platters, hollow form vessels and just about anything else that can be made out of wood or turned on a lathe.
I also like to use pyrography, resin, stone, carving, color, piercing and other techniques to make a piece unique. I have also been crafting wooden charcuterie boards enhanced with pyrography as well as resin and stone.
