I’m Joy Povich, the creative whirlwind in contrast to my husband Jotham’s rational engineer mind. With four energetic kiddos keeping me on my toes, I needed an outlet to channel my restless energy and creativity—and I found it in the art of rock hunting, lapidary, and jewelry making. There’s something deeply peaceful about searching for hidden treasures in nature, whether it’s mining, beachcombing, or even snorkeling for stones. The process of transforming rough, unassuming rocks into stunning pieces of jewelry is both meditative and exhilarating. It’s this love for nature’s artistry, combined with a passion for skilled craftsmanship, that led me into the world of wire wrapping, metalworking, and silversmithing.
My work is inspired by the raw beauty of Lake Michigan and Lake Superior, where each stone tells a story. I feel incredibly grateful to create meaningful pieces that reflect this natural wonder while also helping support my family. Every piece I craft is a blend of adventure, artistry, and the joy of discovery—just the way I like it.
