I have lived my whole life in Michigan and I grew up in a creative family. I worked in commercial advertising for over 20 years in the Metro Detroit area.
I have always created artwork, and I am inspired by the golden age of illustration, specifically children’s book illustrations from 1880 through the 1970s.
In 1994 my family and I moved to Traverse City to embark on an adventure. We opened a specialty store in a historic firehouse downtown. To help flesh out our inventory I began painting and making gift ware items to sell. The store closed in 2002, but I have not stopped creating! I work in all mediums, and often combine them. I like to see the effects I can get from mixing media together. I live in Interlochen with husband Pat, 2 dogs and 4 cats. MAD ART STUDIO is located in the spare bedroom of our little house in the woods.
