I’ve been living in NW Michigan since 1994. Most of those years in Leelanau County, and now in Acme/ Williamsburg area.
I have been mesmerized, like most people who come to this locale, by the gorgeous and varied outdoors we have here. I am always compelled to incorporate the lovely resources from our beaches into jewelry that will remind us of the Great Lakes region. I find that the most interesting things to work with are authentic beach glass, Leland Blue slag and Petoskey stones. All of these things are indigenous to Michigan, and aren’t we lucky to be able to take it with us and make it personal?!
Thank you for reading about the reasons I love this place and looking at what it inspires me to do as an artist!
